Student Life: $200

1. The B. G. Price Scholarship - $200
First offered at Graduation 1983 and maintained by Mr. Bram Price. Normally given to a student without other scholarship support who is judged a worthy recipient on the basis of academic achievement, involvement in student life, and Christian service.

2. The Gordon Brown Memorial Scholarship - $200
First offered at Graduation 1987. Normally given to a returning student of exemplary Christian character who is judged a worthy recipient of financial support on the basis of academic achievement, involvement in student life, and Christian Service.


Social Work: $150-$1,000

1. The Charles and Hazel Knowles Memorial Bursary - $150
This bursary is available to a student entering the Social Work Program who has a financial need and a significant record of Community Service working with the financially disadvantaged.

2. The Edgar and Fairie Halsey Memorial Scholarship - $200
First offered at Graduation 1992. Normally awarded to the second year student who achieves the highest overall average in Social Work Studies. Both classroom achievement and field work skills are essential aspects for consideration. The scholarship is to be applied to third year tuition fees at Booth College.

3. The Fisher Memorial Social Work Scholarship - $1,000
First offered at Graduation 1992. Normally given to a student (or students) completing Level Three in the Bachelor of Social Work program. The scholarship is to be used by a Booth College student to attend a professional social workers' conference, seminar, or workshop. The award is based on the academic and practical competency of the student (or students).

4. The Gary and Linda Johnson BSW Scholarship - $1,000
The Gary and Linda Johnson BSW Scholarship is established to encourage Salvationists to develop a career in front line social work in Salvation Army ministry units in Canada. The scholarship will be awarded to a Salvationist student entering the third year of studies in the Bachelor of Social Work program studies. The Salvationist student will be involved in a practicum of front line ministry in a Salvation Army ministry unit. The scholarship will be given to the Salvationist student who is judged a worthy recipient of financial support.


Church Leadership and Missions: $300-$500

1. The Albert and Val Becklund Scholarship - $500.00
This scholarship is awarded to a student who regularly attends The Salvation Army:
    1.    Winnipeg East Church, or if there is no student qualifying, then
    2.    Another Salvation Army church or corps.

This student must demonstrate exemplary Christian character and leadership both in the life of the church and at the William and Catherine Booth College, and have a financial need.

2. The Donnelly Memorial Scholarship - $500.00
First offered at Graduation 1989. Normally given to a returning Level Two or Level Three Salvation Army student with a minimum 2.5 AGPA, who will be participating in missions preferably outside of Canada. In the event that no missions opportunities are available in a given year, the award can be provided for missions opportunities within Canada.

3. The Majors Bernard and Ann Borden Scholarship - $300.00
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time returning student who attends the Weetamah Corps, participates in the ministry of the Corps, maintains a 2.5 AGPA, shows a genuine compassion for the disenfranchised of the inner city, and portrays a servant attitude in their daily living.

4. The Reg Rowe Memorial Bursary - $500.00
This bursary is awarded to a returning student who is industrious, exemplifies Christian character and gives consistent support to their church/corps and has financial need.


Benevolence

1. The Booth College Bursary
This bursary is awarded to returning students in September and January and is based on financial need.

2. The Harold and Edith May Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is given to a returning student after the successful completion of a year of studies and is based on financial need.


Graduating Student Awards

The Harland Scholarship - $500.00
First offered at Graduation 2002. This scholarship is awarded to one or more students graduating from the Bachelor of Arts Advanced or Honours (Christian Studies Major) program and who are applying for further studies in a theological or professional discipline. The scholarship is payable upon enrollment in a qualified program.
