100% Employment Record

Social Work Graduates obtain employment within four months of graduation

BC RELEASE – 001-2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – 12-NOVEMBER-2008

WINNIPEG, MB –

The 2008 graduates of Booth College’s Bachelor of Social Work program have all obtained employment within four months of graduation. This is the third consecutive year that Booth has posted a 100% employment rate for its social work graduates.

Professor Bonnie Bryant, Head of the Social Work program, says that this achievement is a result of the students’ “preparation for professional social work practice and the knowledge gained in the classroom and the skills developed through a range of practica in the community. A dedicated and committed social work faculty maintains a pulse on changing trends, emerging social issues, best practices in the field to ensure graduates are prepared for the diverse and changing needs facing society today.”

The Booth College B.S.W. program integrates social work knowledge, skills and ethics with a foundation in Christian faith to produce graduates who are professionally competent. Last year, students in the social works program provided more that 15,000 hours of service in Manitoba as part of their preparation for graduation.
